Eligibility

WHO CAN APPLY?

Holders of an accredited qualification in architecture (Master of Architecture or equivalent) within the last 5 years and who are not yet registered as an architect.

If your accredited qualification in architecture was obtained more than 5 years ago, and you are not yet registered as an architect, you are eligible for the Associate category.

Not sure if your architectural qualification is accredited? Find out more about education standards and accredited courses of architecture here.

If you obtained your academic qualifications overseas, contact us at membership@architecture.com.au to determine your eligibility. Graduates who have successfully registered as an architect are not eligible for this category of membership.

2023 Membership Category Changes

EVOLVING TO SUPPORT YOUR ARCHITECTURE JOURNEY

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving our membership experience and offerings to all the members we support, we’re simplifying our membership categories for 2023 and beyond, ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of the profession.

This is the first phase of our commitment to reviewing our member experience, with a review of the structure of our A+ membership continuing into next year.

Amongst many changes, we’ve reduced our membership categories from 11 to just seven, which more closely reflects the logical progression of an architect’s career journey.

We’re also introducing a range of flexible and affordable options, supporting our members through career and personal life events including recent graduation and registration, parental leave, post-graduate leave and retirement.
